
The first meeting of the CIMIN Working Group under the Italian Presidency took place on the 10 March 2016 at the Carabinieri Officers School in Rome.
The CIMIN Working Group delegates were welcomed by the Carabinieri Commanding General, Lt . Gen. Tullio Del Sette.
The Commanding General, as CIMIN President underlined the relevance of the ongoing EUROGENDFOR works to strengthen relations with International Organisations, in particular with the European Union, the United Nations, the NATO and the OSCE as well as the EUROCORPS Command.
He also emphasised the pertinence of the “Stability Policing Hub” in Vicenza, combining the capabilities of the EUROGENDFOR Permanent Headquarter (EGF PHQ), the Italian Centre of Excellence for Stability Police Unit (CoESPU) and the NATO Stability Policing Centre of Excellence (SP COE).
The Working Group agenda and the related outcomes focused on those subjects as well as on the ongoing deployments in support of NATO and EU current missions (Resolute Support, EUCAP Sahel Mali and EUMAM RCA), and on potential future engagements.

In this vein, a videoconference with the UN Police Division in New York deepened the concept of “UN Serious and Organized Crime Teams” where EUROGENDFOR is evaluating to contribute, in the future, with its expertise.
In addition, the Working Group recommended the activation of a EUROGENDFOR Facebook page in order to improve its public information and the interactivity with partners.
Those fruitful discussions were concluded by addresses of Major General Enzo Bernardini, Head of the Forces Employment Department – Carabinieri HQ and the Plenipotentiary Minister Gianfranco Incarnato, Director for Security,Non-Proliferation and Disarmament at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

At the meeting participated 29 delegates coming from Italy, France, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey, Lithuania and the European Union.
