United Nations Strategic Guidance Framework Meeting for the Standing Police Capacity (Police Division)

Last July, from the 19th to the 21st, EUROGENDFOR’s Head of Logistics participated in the United Nations Strategic Guidance Framework Meeting for the Standing Police Capacity (Police Division), held in Brindisi (Italy).

During the meeting, relevant contacts were performed with representatives of counterpart organizations, such as the European External Action Service (EEAS), the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO), the United Nations Standing Police Capacity Division (SPC), and the United Nations Logistics Base (UNLB).

The objective of the meeting was to get expert inputs for the purpose of guidance design, as well as to highlight the major challenges which United Nations Police components in the field encounter relating to administration.

These will feed into the development of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations – Department of Field Support (DPKO-DFS) Guidelines on Police Administration in Peacekeeping Operations and Special Political Missions. In particular, the Guidelines will address the main aspects of police administration including human resources, financial and records management and logistics.
