Brigadier General Philippe RIO, Commander of the European Gendarmerie Force (EUROGENDFOR) presented today EUROGENDFOR’s capabilities and workings during the third module of the Common Security and Defence Policy High Level Course (CSDP HLC), which takes place in Paris at the Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale from 3 to 7 April 2017.
The CSDP HLC is composed of four phases, with a duration of one week each. The previous two phases took place in Brussels and Madrid, respectively, with the fourth phase scheduled to be held in Vienna. The aim of this third module is to provide a deeper insight into the EU’s engagement in support of the CSDP/CFSP and a further insight into the planning processes of missions and operations. The module analyses the concept and organisation of CSDP Missions and Operations in support of the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP).
EUROGENDFOR’s Lieutenant Colonel Emiliano MINGORANCE, from Operations, and Lieutenant Colonel Mauro FERREIRA, from Plans & Policy, are attendees at the CSDP HLC. The course focuses in the importance of the strong principles that guide the European Union action, and prepares selected senior individuals from EU Member States and EU Institutions for leadership positions in the application and development of the CSDP policy, crisis management and capability development. Both Officers will receive an in-depth understanding of the different aspects of the CSDP within the larger framework of the CFSP.
The 12th edition of the Common Security and Defence Policy High Level Course has been named Anna Lindh, after the Swedish politician who devoted her career to the promotion and protection of international law and human rights.
