EUMA Armenia

From 01/06/2024 to ongoing

The European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) is a non-executive, non-armed civilian Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) Mission, which was launched on 20 February 2023, when it also started its operational activities.

On 30 January, the Council of the European Union extended the mandate of the European Union Mission in Armenia (EUMA) for a further two years, until 19 February 2027. EUMA is tasked with observing and reporting on the situation on the ground, contributing to human security in conflict-affected areas and supporting the confidence building between Armenia (AM) and Azerbaijan (AZ), where possible. The Mission is deployed on the Armenian side of the international border with Azerbaijan, whose Headquarters (HQ) has been in Yeghegnadzor, with six Forward Operating Bases (FOB) in Yeghegnadzor, Jermuk, Martuni, Kapan, Goris and Ijevan.

Currently, personnel under the umbrella of EUROGENDFOR are working on this region.
