EUCAP Sahel Mali

Launched in 2014, the EUCAP Sahel Mali mission supports the Malian government in reasserting its authority over the whole country by strengthening the internal security forces. The mission provides the Malian Police, Gendarmerie, National Guard and relevant ministries with strategic advice and training to support security sector reforms.
EUROGENDFOR’s involvement in the mission began before its official launch, as a PHQ expert participated in two technical assessment missions conducted by the EU during the planning process in 2013. Since the mission’s establishment, EUROGENDFOR has provided advisers at strategic and operational levels, as well as trainers in a variety of areas. Furthermore, in 2020, EUROGENDFOR contributed to setting up the EUCAP Sahel Mali Mobile Unit, with the PHQ conducting the pre-deployment training and EUROGENDFOR members filling all 20 positions in the unit.
