Afghanistan RSM
From 01/01/2015 to 27/08/2021

The NATO-led Resolute Support Mission (RSM) in Afghanistan was launched on 1 January 2015, following the completion of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). Its aim was to provide the Afghan security forces and institutions with further training, advice and assistance. As NATO support transitioned from a combat role to a training, advice and assistance mission, the number and type of participating forces changed.
In this context, the EUROGENDFOR’s previous contribution to ISAF transitioned to a new role mainly focused on providing advice to key local players in Afghan ministries and in some provinces. Consequently, EUROGENDFOR’s engagement in the RSM involved deploying advisers in various areas, either as individual experts or as part of the Police Advisory Teams (PATs).
