The Italian Carabinieri organized the seventh and last European Police Services Training 2011-2013 Session from 15th to 26th of September 2014, in Vicenza, at the Centre of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU).
The session trained Police Officers from EU Member States, non-EU Countries taking part in the EU Common Security and Defence Policy (Albania, Canada, Chile, FYR Macedonia, Georgia, Iceland, Moldova, Montenegro, New Zealand, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine and USA) and from African Union Countries. Experts and observers from International Organizations were also invited. Among the latter, EUROGENDFOR was requested to take part by contributing two PHQ members to the session: an Italian Carabinieri Colonel as Deputy Police Head of Mission, and a Spanish Guardia Civil Lieutenant as Information Analysis Officer. The main objective of the session was to improve the cohesion and interoperability of the participating police officers, with a view to an effective enhancement of the overall capacities of the attendees in the field of International Police Missions, with special regard to the respect of human rights, gender equality and protection of vulnerable groups.
