EUMAM MOZAMBIQUE MEDICAL EVACUATION EXERCISE

EUROGENDFOR service member takes part in EUMAM MOZ medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) exercise

The European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ) conducted recently a medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) exercise simulating a trauma caused by a fall from height. The main objective of the exercise was to enhance the technical proficiency of the medical team and reinforce coordination and readiness among all those involved in responding to emergency situations.

The activity involved the participation of ROLE 1, composed of military personnel from the mission and a medical team from IQARUS, as well as members of Force Protection. In a realistic and demanding scenario, the procedures for triage, stabilization, and transport of victims were tested, ensuring the effectiveness of the evacuation chain and the integration between the various operational components.

The exercise was supported by the EUROGENDFOR representative deployed with the EUMAM MOZ in the position of Counterterrorism Advisor (CTAD), who contributed to the validation of immediate response capabilities and the reinforcement of the force’s overall readiness in the face of unexpected incidents.

Through this activity, EUMAM MOZ and EUROGENDFOR reinforce their joint commitment to security, training, and operational readiness, promoting an integrated and efficient response in critical situations.

EUMAM MOZ is a non-executive mission with a mandate until June 2026. It supports the FADM with the objective of strengthening the sustainability of Mozambique´s QRF, embedding them within a robust and autonomous operational cycle.
