From 10 to 21 October 2016, Lieutenant Colonel Armando SISINNI, Legal Advisor of the European Gendarmerie Force (EGF), took part in the role of Police Security Sector Advisor, in the Spearhead 2017 Exercise held in Strasbourg (France).
The aim of the exercise was to prepare and train the Eurocorps Headquarters personnel, including augmentees from other international organizations, as the Force Headquarters (FHQ) for the first semester of the European Union Battlegroup (EUBG) 2017 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDB8Pur3epY).
The successful exercise certified the FHQ capable to plan and conduct the full spectrum of EU Crisis Response Operations (CRO) under the command and control of an Operation Headquarters (OHQ).
The EUBG is a multinational force composed of 15 battle groups 1500-soldier-strong each, and is able to deploy outside the borders of the European Union at 5 to 10 days’ notice for operations lasting between 30 and 120 days.
