LOWLANDS GRENADE 2018 EXERCISE

Tuesday 25 September 2018, Major General André Peperkoorn, Deputy Commander ofthe Royal Netherlands Marechausee, officially announced the start of LowlandsGrenade 2018.

Lowlands Grenade is a major international exercise that is currently taking place in the Marnewaard training area in Groningen. 
17 Gendarmerie and Police Forces from 13 countries in Europe, North and South America, and Africa, contributing with more than 200 personnel, will spend two weeks developing skills and methods to apply in international missions.

The first week consists of various training sessions inmonitoring, mentoring, advising, and training (MMA&T), and communitypolicing training for in-theatre situations.
The second week will consist of a 65-hour exercise and a VIPconference.

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee has been leading the European Union Police Services Training II (EUPST II) on behalf of the Netherlands since2015. As is becoming habitual in these exercises, the European Gendarmerie Force is contributing with expert personnel, while at the same time benefitting from the unique opportunity presented by this exercise to train for future crisis management scenarios.
